Formed and owned by 4 families, the Akhmeta Wine House was founded in 2014. Concentrated on producing natural / organic Qvevri wines from their vineyards, the Akhmeta Wine House strives to protect the vineyards, grapes and wine ecosystem, biodiversity, biological cycle and biological processes. Members of the "Caucasus," the only local body for bio-steering in Georgia and is accredited by DAkkS ISO-17065. Their certificate is recognized by Georgia, EU and Switzerland. From 2019 "Akhmeta wine house" will be officially offered to bio-certified wine.
Akhmeta Wine House offers three types of natural / organic wine to its customers: Rkatsiteli, Kakhetian Mtsvane, and Saperavi. The wine is made from selected, hand-picked grapes, cultivated in Kakheti, from vineyards planted in Akhmeta. The wine are made in Qvevris, using the traditional Kakhetian technology.

The Akhmeta microclimate is located on three rivers--Ilto, Alazani, and Oril--and lies at 500-550 meters above sea level. This winery's Rkatsiteli vineyard is 30 years old, and spread over 1.5 hectares at the entrace of Akhmeta, on the southeast slope of the Orville River. Just over the river is their 40-year old Kakhuri Mtsani vineyard, and the Saperavi harvests come from a 25-year old vineyard in the Bitiani area.
Akhmeta Wine House participated in the 4th national competition of Georgian wine in 2017.
