Eniseli Bagrationi Winery was established in the late 19th century by Zakaria Jorjadze, a prominent wine-maker and public figure. It outlasted the Sovietization of Georgia, and has been considered a brand of high significance and prestige since its inception. Though the wineries were nearly destroyed in the early 2000's, the descendants of Zakaria Jorjadze revived the business and transitioned the methods to include Italian technologies under the leadership of Sandro Bagrationi.
